The Basket of Apples
This painting is by Paul Cézanne, it was done in the year 1895. It currently belongs to the Art Institute of Chicago. I was first drawn to this painting because I liked the bright colors used for the apples. After examining the piece some more I found I liked how the basket and apples aren't placed neatly. The basket is tilted with apples spilling out, the table cloth underneath is wrinkled. It made it feel more realistic rather than it being perfectly placed to be drawn.
