Man - Kathe Kollwitz

I chose this piece of art because I was drawn to how the artist made the man in the picture to be deep in thought. I also like how the artist used charcoal to draw this drawing. The man in the drawing gives the viewer an empathetic emotion towards it based on the physical characteristics on his face. This was definitely during the first world war and you can the devastation in this man's face. Kathe Kollwitz truly brought out the sadness and desperateness in this drawing.
