The Reclining Woman (Picasso)

Picasso was a spanish painter, sculptor, and stage designer. He is considered to be one of the greatest and influential artist in the 20th century. This black and white drawing is called Femme couchee lisant (1960) also known as The Reclining Woman (1960) by Pablo Picasso. The drawing consists of isolated black, white, and gray hues in order to highlight their formal structure. I found this drawing interesting because of the abstract shapes to make the woman and what looks to be a reclining chair. I also like how Picasso used the black, white, and gray hues to form dimensions in the drawing.
