Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up - Egon Schiele

Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up, 1917 by Egon Schiele

Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up, 1917 by Egon SchieleEgon Schiele was an Austrian painter. Schiele was a major figurative painter of the early 20th century. Schiele work is noted for its intensity and its raw sexuality, and the many self-portraits. The twisted body shapes and the expressive line that characterize Schiele’s painting and drawing mark the artist as an early exponent of Expressionism. I chose Schiele artwork called “Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up”. I love the red tones in her hair and the greens in her loosely fitted shirt. Her intense appearance and body position really got my attention. Overall, I love everything about this artwork.
