Emily Gursky Banksy Art

This graffiti was done by Banksy in San Francisco. I chose this piece, because the red text against the white building first caught my attention. I think the message, "this'll look nice when it's framed" is ironic, because the art would inevitably be removed and never be framed in its original form. Maybe he is trying to convey the idea that a piece of art is sometimes only considered "nice" when it is framed or preserved so that others can see it. The stencil of the boy next to the text was also interesting to me. The scribbled and jagged font reminded me of how a child's handwriting could look, and the young boy is holding a paint brush next to it. So, I think Banksy wants the piece to look like the boy "painted" it.
